Samuel Adlivankin

Samuel Adlivankin was a Russian-Soviet painter and graphic artist born in Tatarsk, Mogilev province. He studied at the Odessa Art School and then at the Moscow Free Art Workshops under Vladimir Tatlin, whose Constructivist influence is visible in his 1919-20 work. In the early 1920s he joined the New Painters' Society, exhibiting ironic, expressionist scenes of everyday Soviet life tinged with primitivism.
