Boris Grigoriev was a Russian painter, graphic artist and writer trained at the Stroganov Art School and the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg. He first exhibited with the Union of Impressionists in 1909 and later joined the World of Art movement, becoming known for expressive portraits and scenes of Russian peasant life. After 1919 he lived and worked abroad across Europe and the Americas, dying in Cagnes-sur-Mer, France, in 1939.
